Suitability
This software is suitable for all students who are developing their knowledge and recall ability of the division facts, including those who are dyslexic, have dyscalculia, short-term memory or ADD.
Overview
Quick and reliable knowledge of division facts is an essential component of the development of a student’s mathematical ability.
The Dingo Bingo Division program is a pleasant and highly motivational way of ensuring students systematically acquire and then reinforce this fundamental maths skill. It can be used to develop mainstream knowledge of the division facts, or as a remedial technique to correct inadequate knowledge.
In the program, students learn division facts up to the twelve times table and must display proficiency with one set of facts before progressing to the next. There are 6 game boards for each table, including mixed tables, to ensure students are continually challenged. Each game board is backed by an interesting photo of an Australian scene.
The program monitors accuracy, time taken per game and error rate. Problems with particular division facts are listed after each game, and can be printed out for further practice and revision away from the computer.
Backgrounds, accuracy rates and timer settings can be adjusted to suit the needs of each student. A reward system is also incorporated to encourage achievement, with printable certificates that can be viewed on screen.
