Suitability

This software is suitable for all mainstream students from upper primary to senior secondary school. It comprises:

Overview

Living Deserts takes students on a journey of discovery as they learn about some of the world’s hottest deserts. First-hand accounts of daily life, climate, plants, animals, people, and the dangers of desertification come together in such a way that students are able to form a complete understanding of these arid ecosystems.

Each of the three levels are self-contained modules, with enough curriculum material to support any classroom activity, learning objective or student project. Real-life scenarios, vivid photos, interesting stories, detailed graphics and engaging, written activities give students an experience they could only otherwise get from actually being there.

The home edition is a single site licence for 4 users only. The school edition has no restrictions on the number of users for a single site licence, and teachers are able to allocate class groups, change global variables and maintain individual user preferences, which includes enabling/disabling of sound effects and narrated support.
